Section 1 – What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit. Each time you return, your browser sends them back so the site can recognize your device and remember things such as your cart, your sign-in, or your language choice.

• Session cookies last only while you browse and are deleted when you close your browser or after a period of inactivity.
• Persistent cookies stay on your device for a set period, from days to up to about two years.
• First-party cookies are set by South Bayjdm.com itself.
• Third-party cookies are set by services built into our site, such as our payment processors.
• Local storage is a similar browser feature. We use it to remember display preferences, such as the light or dark appearance you choose in your account settings.

Cookies do not identify you by name on their own. Combined with other information, such as your IP address, they can be linked to your device, which is why some state privacy laws treat them as personal information.

Section 2 – Categories of cookies we use

Strictly necessary (always active)

These cookies make the website work. They keep your cart and sign-in active from page to page, protect our forms against cross-site request forgery, and let Stripe and PayPal process your payment securely and detect fraud. They are not used for marketing and cannot be switched off without breaking the site.

Functional (optional)

These remember choices you make, such as keeping you signed in when you tick “Remember me” or showing the site in English or Español. If you block them, the site still works, but you may need to repeat those choices.

Analytics (optional)

We may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to see in aggregate which pages and parts are most viewed, how visitors reach us, and where they leave. This helps us improve listings and the shopping experience. We do not use analytics data to build individual advertising profiles.

Marketing (optional)

If we run online advertising, we may use tools such as Google Ads conversion tracking or the Meta Pixel to measure which ads lead to purchases and to show relevant ads to past visitors. Under California and other state laws this can count as “sharing” personal information. You can opt out at any time, as explained in Section 5.

Analytics and marketing cookies are only placed while those tools are active on our website. If we add a new tool that sets cookies, we will update this table.

Section 4 – Third-party services

Some cookies are placed by the companies whose services we use. We do not control those cookies, and the data they collect is governed by each provider’s own policy:

We do not sell personal information collected through cookies to data brokers or other third parties.

Section 5 – Your choices and state privacy rights

Every visitor can opt out of analytics and marketing cookies, wherever you live. Depending on your state, you may also have legal rights over cookie-based data:

• California (CCPA / CPRA): you can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, including cookie data used for cross-context behavioral advertising. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out for that browser.
• Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, and other states with privacy laws: you can opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling.
• Everyone: you can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and expect equal service if you exercise these choices.

Section 7 – Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when we add or remove services that set cookies or when privacy laws change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision, and where required by law we will notify affected customers by email.
