Accessibility statement
Last updated and effective: October 23, 2026
Section 1 – The standard we work toward
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), built on four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. Accessibility is ongoing work, and we review the site as our inventory and features change.
Section 2 – What we do
- A logical heading order and standard page regions so screen reader users can move around easily
- Descriptive alt text for meaningful images, while decorative images are hidden from screen readers
- Full keyboard access with a visible focus outline
- Accessible names for icon-only links, and labeled form fields with clear error messages
- Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 (3:1 for large text), and color is never the only way information is shown
- A responsive layout that reflows when you zoom
- The language declared on every page, with the site available in English and Español
- Tap-to-call and tap-to-email links on every page
- Policies published as web pages, not images or scans
Section 3 – Accessibility across key tasks
- Finding parts: the Year / Make / Model finder uses standard drop-downs that work with a keyboard and screen readers, and links have descriptive text.
- Product pages: price, condition, mileage and fitment are shown as readable text, not just in photos.
- Cart and checkout: item name, quantity and price are readable text. Checkout runs on Shopify's accessible checkout, with PayPal also available, and we can help you order by phone.
- Your account: view your orders and manage your details.
Section 4 – Assistive technology
We design for screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack), keyboard-only and switch navigation, voice control (Dragon, Windows Voice Access, Apple Voice Control), screen magnifiers and browser zoom. Keeping your browser and assistive technology up to date gives the best results. If a combination doesn't work well for you, please tell us.
Section 5 – Known limitations
| Area | Limitation | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Payment screens | PayPal's screens and some payment pop-ups are run by the payment provider, not by us | Order by phone and we'll help you complete it |
| Spanish pages | Automatic translation can make some part names and legal terms imprecise | We explain anything in English or Spanish by phone or email |
| Product photos | Some photos have short or generic alt text | Condition details are in the listing text; we'll describe photos on request |
| Map directions | Google Maps has its own accessibility limits | Our full address is shown as text on every page |
Section 6 – Third-party content
Some parts of the site come from other companies: Shopify (store and checkout), Shopify Payments (card and wallet payments), PayPal, Google Maps (directions to our warehouse) and our social media pages. We choose providers that publish accessibility commitments and report any problems we find to them.
Section 7 – Accessibility and the law
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III: we use WCAG 2.1 AA as our benchmark.
- California's Unruh Civil Rights Act (Civil Code Section 51).
- Disability anti-discrimination laws in other states, including New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Washington.
If you feel you've been denied equal access, please contact us first so we can fix it. You may also file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division.
Section 8 – How we handle reports
- We log your report when we receive it by email or phone.
- We acknowledge it within 2 business days.
- Where possible, we reproduce the problem with your device and assistive technology.
- We give you another way to get what you need right away.
- We fix the problem, update this statement if needed, and let you know when the fix is live.
Section 9 – Report a barrier or get help
Email southbayjdmmotors@gmail.com with the subject "Accessibility Feedback", or call (669) 230-3198. It helps to tell us the page address, what you were trying to do and what happened, your browser and device, any assistive technology you use, and how you'd like us to contact you. You never need to explain or prove a disability. We can also help by phone or email with orders, product questions and order status.
