Do not sell or share my personal information

Last updated and effective: October 23, 2026

This page explains your right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and under other U.S. state privacy laws. Opting out is free and doesn't affect your ability to shop with us.

Section 1 – Our position

  • South Bay JDM does not sell personal information for money and does not sell or rent customer lists.
  • Service providers such as Shopify, freight carriers and payment processors receive information only to do their job for us and may not use it for their own marketing.
  • Under California law, analytics or advertising cookies can count as "selling" or "sharing" even when no money changes hands, which is why this page exists.

Section 2 – Who this page is for

California residents have the broadest rights under the CCPA and CPRA. Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Virginia and several other states also have opt-out rights. We honor opt-out requests from every U.S. customer, whatever state you live in.

Section 4 – How to opt out

  • Email: southbayjdmmotors@gmail.com with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share – [Your Full Name]". Include your name, the email you use with us and your state.
  • Phone: (669) 230-3198 during business hours.
  • Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out for that browser. You don't need to do anything else.
  • Privacy choices: where our cookie banner or Shopify's "Your privacy choices" link appears, you can opt out there.
  • Cookie settings: block analytics and advertising cookies in your browser. This works per browser and device.

Section 5 – After you opt out

  • We don't need to verify your identity for an opt-out, though we may ask for details to find your records.
  • We process opt-outs within 15 business days and pass them on to the partners involved.
  • If you gave us an email address, we confirm in writing once the opt-out takes effect.
  • We won't ask you to opt back in for at least 12 months, and you can opt back in whenever you like.

Section 6 – Authorized agents

Someone else can make a request for you if they give us your signed written permission. For requests to know, delete or correct information, we may also ask you to verify your identity directly or confirm that you gave the agent permission.

Section 7 – Sensitive personal information

The only sensitive information we handle is your account sign-in (email and password) and limited payment details. We use it only to provide what you ask for, such as signing in and processing payments, and never to infer anything about you. That's why there's no separate "Limit the Use" link, but you're welcome to contact us with questions.

Section 8 – Your other privacy rights

  • Know and access: what we hold about you, where it came from, why we use it and who receives it.
  • Delete: subject to legal exceptions such as tax and warranty records.
  • Correct: fix inaccurate information; most account details can be updated in your account.
  • Portability: receive your data in a common, machine-readable format.
  • No discrimination: using your rights won't affect our service, prices or quality.
  • Timing: we acknowledge requests within 10 business days and answer within 45 calendar days, with one possible extension of up to 45 more days that we'll tell you about in writing.

More details are in our Privacy Policy.

Section 9 – Residents of other states

Nineteen states, including Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas and Virginia, have comprehensive privacy laws. Depending on your state, you can confirm whether we process your data, access, correct, delete or get a copy of it, and opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data and certain profiling. Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, Oregon and Texas recognize Global Privacy Control, and we honor it. If we deny a request, reply within 60 days to appeal; if the appeal is denied, you can contact your state attorney general. Customers in states without these laws can still use every option on this page.

Section 10 – Consumers under 16

We don't knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16. We sell to adults, and our website isn't aimed at children.
